Anthropic Claude introductory training

The Anthropic Claude introductory training is designed for companies that want to give their people a shared understanding of what Claude can do and when to reach for each of its features.

We work through Claude’s main techniques and features in one coherent flow, so that participants leave with a clear sense of what each one is for: choosing a model and a thinking mode, files, web search, Research, Memory, instructions, Projects, Artifacts, Skills, data analysis and connectors.

  • Length 2.5 hours
  • Format Online / On-site
  • Level Beginner
  • Group up to 75 participants
  • Audience Companies that want to give their people a shared understanding of what the tool can do and when to reach for each of its features. Best suited to those just starting out.
  • Materials A recording of the training. Environment: a Claude Team licence and the claude.ai desktop app; the session is recorded so you can revisit it later.

What you'll be able to do

  1. understand the principles, limitations and main risks of generative AI
  2. know Claude’s main features and which one to use when
  3. tell apart the situations that call for an ordinary chat, web search, Extended Thinking or Research
  4. know how to use files, Projects, Memory and Artifacts to build the context for a piece of work
  5. try out one clear prompting technique and build a personal Skill for a recurring task
  6. understand how connectors, plugins and company knowledge sources turn Claude from a general-purpose assistant into a tool that works within your organisation’s context

Who this course is not for

For an advanced user the material will be largely familiar and high-level. This is an informative overview of the features rather than in-depth skills training — deepening specific working skills and redesigning company processes belong to a later stage, in smaller groups.

Course structure

01

The fundamentals of generative AI

  • What generative AI is, and how a language model works in principle
  • Where AI genuinely helps: finding information, producing content and analysing data
  • Limitations and risks: hallucinations, outdated information, excessive agreement, and the user’s own responsibility
02

Anthropic Claude

  • What sets Claude apart from other AI tools, and how the Claude web app is laid out
  • How to use Claude safely, and what to keep in mind with a company account
  • Claude’s main features, and how to choose the right approach for the task at hand
03

Prompting

  • What makes a prompt clear and effective
  • A group exercise: comparing a poor prompt with a good one
  • How to give Claude enough context, the constraints, and the output you want
04

Models, effort and Extended Thinking

  • When to choose the faster model and when the more capable one
  • What the effort level changes, and when more thinking is worth it
  • When to use Extended Thinking, and when an ordinary answer is enough
05

Files, web search and Research

  • Uploading and analysing documents, spreadsheets, images and other files
  • Web search, for finding and verifying up-to-date public information
  • Research, for more complex multi-step investigation with sources you can check
06

Memory, instructions and Projects

  • Memory and search across earlier conversations: what Claude remembers, and how to manage it
  • Account-wide instructions, styles, and project-specific instructions
  • Projects, for keeping the context and files of a recurring topic, client or workflow together
07

Artifacts, data analysis and creating files

  • Artifacts as a separate workspace for producing documents, visualisations and interactive content
  • Analysing and visualising CSV/XLSX and other data
  • Creating and editing Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF files with Claude
08

Skills, connectors and Cowork

  • Building a personal Skill to standardise a recurring task – a hands-on group exercise
  • Connectors and plugins: how Claude can work with your company’s other tools and data sources
  • Cowork and scheduled tasks as a concept, and connecting up company knowledge sources
