From Excel data to conclusions with AI

An Excel spreadsheet or a dashboard does not yet tell you what the numbers actually mean. The value appears once you can find what matters in the data, read the results correctly, and draw conclusions from them.

On this hands-on training you will learn to use ChatGPT or Claude alongside Excel, so you get from data to answers of substance faster. AI helps you find the right questions, pick suitable techniques, notice trends and outliers, and make sense of what comes back.

  • Length 4 academic hours (9.45–14.00)
  • Format On-site
  • Level Intermediate
  • Group up to 15 participants
  • Audience This training suits managers and specialists who use Excel to analyse reports, results or other business data, and who want AI to help them get answers of substance out of that data faster. A good fit if your work involves comparing results, noticing changes, looking for the causes behind a problem, or explaining to others what the numbers show.
  • Materials Exercise files. Please bring: a laptop with Microsoft Excel, and a paid ChatGPT or Claude account.

What you'll be able to do

  1. use ChatGPT or Claude as a data-analysis assistant, and put a clear analysis task into words for it
  2. use AI to build Excel formulas, summaries and comparisons
  3. find trends, changes, differences and outliers in your data
  4. interpret the results, and tell a fact that follows from the data apart from an assumption AI has offered
  5. choose visualisations that support the analysis and build a simple dashboard in Excel
  6. put clear, well-founded conclusions into words on the strength of the analysis

Who this course is not for

No analyst background is needed. Basic working knowledge of Excel is assumed. No previous experience with AI is needed.
